Pairing: Apollo/Midnighter
Summary: The part that shamed him, the part that made his stomach turn, was that none of this was really about Midnighter.
Notes: Set immediately after and containing spoilers for Human on the Inside. I liked parts of that comic - and parts of it really rubbed me the wrong way. I felt like I got what they were trying to do, but mostly Apollo just came off like someone's abusive boyfriend. I wanted to see more of a reconciliation than that quick glance we got at the end, so I figured an epilogue with make-up sex was in order.

I’m pleasantly surprised with the re-launch treatment of Midnighter and Apollo so far. It’s not better, but so far it’s good in a separate way. So I decided to embrace the new version by writing something: Title: Recalculate Rating: PG Summary: Midnighter is just trying to get Apollo away from the superheroes before they indoctrinate him. Jenny puts in her two cents. SPOILERS: This takes place during Stormwatch issue 4. It has spoilers and probably won’t make any sense if you haven’t read up to that point.

So apparently Peter Milligan (Justice League Dark/Red Lanterns) will be writing Stormwatch from issue 9 onwards (following Paul Jenkins' two part story).
What does everyone think? Personally I'm happy that Jenkins won't be the ongoing writer, and I did enjoy the first issue of JL:D so I'm tentatively hopeful. :)

Summary: Midnighter's home again. It's not the answer to everything, but it's a pretty good start.
Notes: This is a missing scene set after the Assassin 8 storyline from the Midnighter comics. Spoilers abound for both that and the Anthem storyline. I liked the Midnighter comics but was generally disappointed by the lack of Apollo, so this is my solution. This is basically angst and fluff with some reunion sex mixed in.

One Authority story was written for Yuletide 2011, In The Bright Hereafter by Anonymous. Apollo/Midnighter, explicit, 1111 words. Summary: "One of the interesting side effects of waking up with no memory of who you are or anything you've ever done is that your body doesn't feel like your own."
In Stormwatch news, here's the preview for #5 at iFanboy with 5 pages plus cover. The issue comes out January 4.

Stormwatch #6 will be Paul Cornell's last issue. Paul Jenkins will be writing a two-part story for #7 and 8, but it's not confirmed whether Jenkins will stay with the series or if Miguel Sepulveda will continue as the artist.
There's been several things in Cornell's run I haven't cared for, but I was really hoping he would stay on as writer for at least a year. Also, Grifter is now the only Wildstorm title that hasn't had a creative team change-up.

The preview for issue 4 is up, and it seems that they're keeping the fine tradition of Apollo's costume getting blown off every other issue. Also seen here, him and Midnighter being adorable. :)
